One of the best sights I've used. I've had two, on both of my Model 627s. They are easy to see and adjustments are solid.

I have had a LPA TXT sight on my 686, super quality and super sight picture
But I swapped to Millett's for the more classic look.
Revolver_King: My I ask what kind of sights you have on the revolver second from right? (Guess: Bowen?)
The ones on the right and left I can't identify too.

OK here goes on the four revolvers shown in the picture the sights are as follows. 1st one on left is from cyl. & slide, the 2nd one is a LPA, the 3rd one is a Wiegand replacement insert that replaces the original blade and the last oneon right is Meprolight night sights.

When you use the LPA rear sight do you need to change out the S&W stock front sight? Are you using the LPA front sight as well?

I got LPA front & rear set for my 610. OUTSTANDING and highly effective for 'geezer eyes'!!!
If I could afford them, they'd be on ALL my revolvers.

I always use SDM fiber optic front sights because they are very good sights, nice and bright, and yes they are steel.

Thank you all for the information. I'm 56 and have the "tired eyes" as well. I was contemplating a different sight set up on my stock M620.

If I not misstake me, the LPA sight is also possible to order with white outline if this is of interest.
I did actually visit the LPA factory in Gardone, Brescia 2 years ago, realy nice small factory in the heart of Italys gun manufacturing dsitrict.

I remember when we used to laugh and count the shots in westerns and some cops & robbers tv shows when some guy would shoot 7 or 8 times w/o reloading.
Still seems wrong to have a revolver with 7 or 8 holes.

I've been looking around for the adjustable rear sights for S&W revolvers and it looks like there are not a lot of them offered now other than the LPA. It looks like an excellent sight but I was just shopping and seeing what was offered on the market.

Yup remember when I shot my first handgun that held 20 rounds and I was used to 9 rounds, didn't think I was ever getting through and had a tired trigger finger.
Funny thing was I could not hit worth **** with the gun and eventually traded it off. FN 5N7 great gun but when you can't hit anything but the ground it's time to get rid of the gun.

Hi guys,
I know the thread is old but I’m thinking to purchase this LPA rear sight :
https://www.speedbeez.com/wp-content...0-17.17.59.jpg
I would like to know if it’s possible to raise the rear sight more than the original one please ?
Thank you

I don't know if it's my computer or the S&W Forum but I can connect with any of the links provided in this thread. I get a window from the Forum saying it can't be done.
What's with that?

The LPA is a very good rear sight. I have them on a couple of my guns. In post #8, the gun on the left has my rear fiber optic sight that Cylinder and Slide was selling for a while. I still have those and front sights as well.

I guess this necro-thread deserves a response. Apparently LPA sights are well enough thought of for S&W to use them on some of the PC guns. The Competitor series uses them and I think some of the Hunter series.
They are steel and well made. I have them on several of my revolvers that I use for competition. Then I discovered Bowen Rough Country sights. Also steel and considerably more rugged.
LPA's used to be a bargain, but they have changed or added importers and the price has risen to the point where the Bowen's are competitively priced.

Adios,

I put an LPA sight on my 617 and had to mill out the base of the sight to get it low enough to sight in. I could have changed the front sight to a taller one but I didn't want to do that.

Hi there,
So I tried my new LPA rear sight on my 67-6 4".
Here is the result at 27 yards using my 2 hands, single action, manufactured ammo Geco .38 wadcutters.
I'm not pretending to be a good shooter but I really enjoy the LPA sight, the accuracy is better and I'm able to aim very fast.

And here is a pic of my rear sight LPA, it was "plug&play", no modifications needed.
