629-6 backpacker .44 muzzle blast/flash pics
Took some pics of the muzzle blast from my 2.5" bakpacker, but my internet access is web.tv and it is a nightmare. Only way I can share the pics with you guys and gals is if i forward a link to one of the pics to someone. Anyone give me a hand? Have a potobucket album, just can't do anything with it.

Don, you mean you can't even copy the URL of your pic at photobucket and post the link here?

No I can't post links, that I know of. I can't even open the whole photobucket album page without "overloading" the system and having the browser turn off.

I can't copy/paste. I can send the link but it has to be to an email address.

I know that powders vary in terms of flash, and some are purposely made to suppress it. One the other hand, Blue Dot and the slow magnum powders such as H110/W296 are well known for their ability to light things up

Is that the bullet leaving the barrel? What kind of camera are you using to get these pics?

Wow! Great pics!
Is that revolver ported, or is all that flame coming out the muzzle?

Don't know how it's working ,but I guess it is-glad you can get to the pics. 629-6 Backpacker with a 2.5 ported barrel. 180g. / 200g. jhps over H110 with standard primers. Have a bunch of pics, we'll throw another album together soon. Just wanted to see if we could get them onto the web first. Camera Canon SX120 powershot taking video and then going frame by frame. The videos are fun to watch as well. Shot mostly rapid fire.
Just want to add that it wasn't as dark when we took the pics as they look. The muzzle flash wasn't blinding at all, you saw it(!), but its was so short in duration, that I never lost the target.

Don,
Have you noticed any flame-cutting to speak of with that load? I'm loading 210gr. bullets on top of H110, but haven't fired many of them yet. There's a good bit of discussion of this issue here, so I thought I'd ask.
Thank you.
Andy

Jesus. I never seen so much flash!
I guess strapping a night vision unit will be out of the question on that little gun....

Cool pics. I have a Backpacker and know it throws some flash with H-110 even in daylight, never shot it at night.

I too have a 3" Backpacker and love it but have yet to fire it with more than 8.5 grains of Unique and 240 SWC. I have some H110 loads that I shoot out of my Marlin 1894 and 5" 629 Classic but an kinda chicken to shoot the heavy loads out of the 3".
Can you possibly give us a link to one of the videos? That would be cool to see. I may have to get up the nerve .

Snowman- no unusual topstrap cutting, but 99% of my shooting is with sane lead topped cartridges. We have more photos to put in another PB album, and I'll see if we can't get a video or two up somewhere. Glad people are enjoying the pics. If anyone wants to send the PB link to THR, or Firing LIne, whatever-please feel free to do so. Don

Ya know, my face was getting a little "warm" at times, but it will take more than fire to damage that.
