Great gun, a bit of a handful with full house magnums. Kind of pricey.
If cost is an issue, Bud's Gun Shop has a 360 on special that doesn't have the night sight and has a carbon steel cylinder rather than the black stainless but it's on special for only $569 vs $723 for the M&P.

I have a 360 M&P, if I'd known then what I know now, I would have purchased the one that shoots 38 +p ammo. I like the night sights, but the 357 load in that little gun is no fun. Also, mine binded when new, spent money for an action job and a longer firing pin - for that much money, and action job should not have been required. I carry it a lot, and I like it.

The carbon steel cylinder is blued steel just like any other blued S&W revolver would be made out of. The 360 with the stainless cylinder has one made of stainless steel with a hard anodized finish. The stainless cylinder should be more impervious to rust than the blued steel one, but if you take care of the gun and keep it cleaned and oiled regularly, there should be no practical difference.

Bud's actually has those photos reversed. The one they've got as the 357 360 is actually the 38 360 and vice versa.
The M&P 360 and the 360J in either 38 or 357 are going to look nearly identical. The anodized finish on the stainless cylinder of the M&P is probably going to be a little more black than the matte blue finish on the carbon steel cylinder.

The 360PD is basically the same gun with a titanium cylinder and would be the lightest of the three at 11.5 oz.
