New to me 19-4
Earlier this week I posted about a 19-3 I was inquiring about. Thank you all for you feedback on it.
When I went to look at the revolver, the 19-3 without the period correct stocks proved to actually be a 19-4 with the correct targets on it.
It is as solid mechanically as any I have seen. The blueing has a few flecks in it, but I snagged it anyway. It think paid up for it at $680, but oddly enough a 4 inch barrel has been hard to come by for me. (This is my 8th Smith and my first 4")
The serial number starts with 61k7, which puts it in 1980 (I think). The stocks are stamped 3 80.
I'm happy to have it.
Here a few photos. I tried to show the worst of the "flecking". What do you think?

rwadley1, remember you did not overpay, ya just bought ahead of the curve. All that means is you've got an extra year or to enjoy that guy
Enjoy it.

If you are seeking information about this gun, you would be much better off starting your own new thread. You will get much more information from a separate thread. Your gun really has nothing to do with this thread dealing with a Model 19-4.
I will offer that your thread needs to go in the Hand Ejectors 1896 to 1961 subforum. Your gun comes from the early 1900s. It is not stainless steel, most likely nickel plated. I do not know what an engraved cable is.

That is a beautiful example OP. Take good care of it. I covet my 6” and would love a 4” to go with it....someday.
