Can't find holster for PC 629 Light Hunter w scope
I have a Performance Center 629 with 7 and 1/2" barrell with a Leupold 2x20 scope. I can't find a hunting holster for this barrel length.
So I am thinking about buying a Galco KODIAK HUNTER SHOULDER HOLSTER for a S&W - N FR .44 Model 29/629 8 3/8" barrell, and modifying the holster with cork or something to accomodate the 7/8" shorter barrell. Or trying this with the S&W holster Leather Hunter Holster For The M29/629 8-3/8" Barrel
Will either of these work, or is there a better solution?
Thanks

Look at Bianchi, they have a bandilear (across the chest) holster that I like better than a shoulder holster. They have them for scoped and non-scoped revolvers.

I checked it out, thanks! But I am really looking for leather, but this may be my best option.
Anyone on modifying either of the holsters listed above?

Look at Von Ringler Leather in WY and/or Andrews Custom Leater. Or if you don't mind the wait, El Paso Saddlery.

I have been extremely happy with my Bianchi Hush System across the chest (padded nylon) holster. It works with a day pack and gives all day comfort with a heavy revolver in rough country.
I use the same holster to carry my scoped S&W Model 29 8 3/8" or my scoped Ruger Red Hawk 7½" barreled revolvers.

That is the same system I am using whitetail hunting this year with a PC 657 lite hunter. Across the chest seems to get it out of the way when hunting.

Just curious what kind of ranges are you shooting with the leupold 2x20? I have a 629 pc lite hunter and am wanting to put a scope on it either the 2x20 or the 4x28. Not sure which I think the 4x28 looks a little bulky. Do you have a picture of your gun w/scope mounted, I'd really like to see what it looks like
Thanks

If I were you I would look for a S&W shoulder holster #10 S I have one for my 657 with a scope and it fits fine and they were sold back in the 80's and in my Gil Hebard catalog they could be bought for less than 40 dollars @ dealer price, there still should be a lot still out there if some one would turn loose of theirs. The shorter barrel on yours would not be a problem with this holster. PM me with your email address and I will send you a picture with gun in it. Jeff

Thanks in advance for the info

My Milt Sparks that I ordered last August should arrive any day - can't wait.
