How is the Round S&W trademark circle on side plate put on by S&W Stamped or Laser ??

I have a 686-P I just picked up and the circle trademark stamp on the sideplate is real light, are these stamped by S&W or Laser engraved? It looks like the person who owned the gun before me got a bit to wild with polishing it. It can be seen but is really faint and my other S&W's the circle is much more pronounced and you can feel it, can this be re-stamped by S&W or should I not worry about it.

At the Tucson Collectors show, Lee Jarrett had a round stamping die with the S & W logo on it in 4 places, really nice.
Maybe today they have a different way, but that's the way it used to be done.

Thanks TLflag one of my 500's (the 4") looks like the logo was stamped but the 686 is so light I wasn't sure.

Does anybody know if later on I decide I would like a more pronounced trademark will S&W restamp it?

I don't know if S&W will re-stamp it, but a good engraver can re-cut it pretty easily.

I have a 686 with the same issue. Did SW change how they marked pistols at some point?

My 619 and 442 definitely look like the logo was laser. My 19 and 10 are stamped.
