3" Model 13........FYI...almost all 3" K frames are selling at premium prices. Very sought after. Great guns!

Hello Mr. fighter62,
You and I have some similar tastes. I have four 3" S&W's, (all pre-lock) Two K frames & two L frames: a 3" 686+, a 3" 681 Birdsong, a 3" 66 & a 3" 65LS. You have good taste, but I caution that trying to obtain EVERY 3" K & L frame variant will be an EXPENSIVE task & one that will require patience. Not impossible...so I wish you all the best with your noble quest.
All the best,
Mike

Hello fighter62,
There are forum members here much more in the know than me, but: If you are going to exclude the Performance Center variants of K & L frame variants, look to the short or special run 686's with 3" barrels...they were made in plus, (7 shot) and non-plus versions. Also...if the branding doesn't bother you: the model 65 Ladysmith 3" is one of the most well thought out K frames ever made, (IMHO.)
I need to start saving for a house...so my days of making my check card smoke are over, (I should learn to just love what I have)...I wish you luck brother...please keep us posted on your progress!

If you want every stainless 3" K frame variant, you are short several model 66s - there is a -2, -3, -4, -5 and -6. A regular Forum member has all of them in a photo he has posted. Good luck with the search.

I have a 3" N frame (PC, though) and a 3" 65-5. I passed over a 3" M60 yesterday, and I'm kicking myself for that.
I love the balance of the 3" Smiths.

I also admit that I have a fondness for the 3' barrels. I started with a NIB 60-15 that is just fun to shoot. Followed it up with a 65-3 and then a 686-6. All are very well balanced guns. Had a chance at a Mod 64 3" barrel and passed and am still kicking myself.
Good luck in your search.
