Default Altamont grips

I saw these on a member's revolver somewhere on this thread and decided to check them out. The look pretty good and are certainly reasonably priced. I recently found a 66-2 in nice shape except that it's wearing Pachmayrs. They work well enough I guess but are just unattractive. Any opinions on Altamonts?

They make a beautiful product. The fit was very good. Here is the set I have on my 442. I bought mine about a month or two ago.

Here's a set of them on the 22A's I have. The 7" on the left rivals any target rimfire I've ever owned.

Default Altamonts...

I think some look OK and some look like elcheapos. I bought these from an individual and not directly from Altamont. I've not seen anymore like them...was told they were made for a Talo Dists. specific S&W model 60 once upon a time.

sometimes they look good to me...sometimes cheap looking

I love the Altamont combat grips. I've got them on my 27, 28, and 681. And I just put a set on my 19.

Here's the ones on my 681. The ones I put on my 19 are identical except in rosewood.

Here is a set on my Colt Delt Elite. These feel a lot better then the orginal rubber grips when shooting.

I have a pair on a blackhawk, fit isn't all that great but not bad for not being custom fit to the frame. Look good.

Good grips for not too much $. I have a set on my 327NG and on my Walther PPKs. They feel just as good as some of the more expensive grips I've acquired.

I currently have 12 sets from them without problem, but the company does have some problems. Most items are not in stock and can take 6- 12 weeks to get. The last order took me 6 weeks to get 2 grips for a Blackhawk and 2 for a New Vaquero. Quality control must have been asleep because one set had chunks missing. Got the RA number and I am still waiting. Call today to ask how much longer and they took my name and number never got called back.

They were original on some Smiths for a while. I ordered a set of rosewood 'magna' style direct by phone for my model 19 and had them in days. The shape is different from the old factory grips so my T grip didn't fit. They found a home on my model 48 since it doesn't recoil enough to need the T grip. They are laminate (read 'plywood') and aren't as prone to warping or cracking as regular wood. I like them for field and carry grips. They are not as nice as true custom grips but so much nicer than 'goodyears.'

Edit: I didn't have a pic of these grips yet. How did that happen? Diamond 'rosewood' Altamonts on the 48-4.
