Question 617 and 627 bought in Germany

I bought these Revolvers in Germany and imported them to the US recently .
They both are guns only - no box or paperwork .
One is a 617 Target Champion SN BJJ6027 -
the other is a 627-0 SN BKF 5076 - looks like the K was stamped over an N ?!
They both are used - about 85% ...
I am old now don't go out shooting anymore and want to sell them on GunBroker .
Anyone have an idea concerning their value ?
They both have engraving on left side - factory ? or done afterwards ?
Thanks for your thoughts and opinions
Tom

The 627 is definitely an N-Frame. The K may be a proof mark from Germany.

The engraving looks like it was done afterwards.

I'm going to hazard a guess here and say that the "22 Target Champion" engraved on the side plate of the Model 617 indicates that it was an award for a competitive shooter... that term was never used by the factory AFAIK. Maybe it came through a US shooting team/club on one of the many US Military bases in Germany(?)

The S&W "Target Champion" revolvers are european models, quite common over here.

I own a -6 686 TC that has target trigger and hammer, LPA sights and bead blasted finish. It is very tight and smooth, seems better fitted than any "stock" 686 I've handled.

(Also pictured is my 629 -5 ".44 Classic Champion".)

At a local gun shop here in Denmark there are nine 627s for sale, ranging from 5 to 6 inch barrels. All are Target Champions, all of them have the same engraving as yours, and all have the unfluted cylinder.
