Elmer Keith ammunition
Does anyone here know anything about 44 magnum brass marked "ELMER KEITH 44 MAG"? I have fifty rounds of this and was wondering when this was made. I can only assume that it was made about the time the Keith 29-3 was made. I do not have the original box for this and would like to see what the box looks like.
I am giving serious thought to loading six of these and placing them in the box with my Keith 29-3.
Comments, suggestions? Thanks in advance, John

Wish I could help, but can't. I don't think I have never seen these, but if an explanation pops up, it may help with recall. So it goes with too many details and not enough functioning storage space.
Will be interesting to see what others say.

I have a box of 20 rounds marked "Elmer Keith Hell I Was There .44 mag load." It is also marked "Made to help promote the Elmer Keith museum, Salmon, Idaho." It further states it is a 429421 bullet and 22 grains of 2400. Also says "Don't use in an old gun or cheap *** import."
I bought this at a gunshow many years ago and have no idea as to who made it. I have no plans to shoot it, just fun to look at.

I believe in the 80's, Midway, sold brass marked keith, cooper, and I believe Jordon. Keith was .44 mag, Cooper was on .45 acp, and Jordon was on .357. As for the loaded rounds, I saw some for sale along about this time at the Louisville KY Gun Day show, some custom loader had it for sale. This is probably where yours came from. Hope this helps, I am just relying on memory, so may be off a little on the time frame.

Thank you all for your input.
Max, do you have any pictures of the box?
Thanks again to all that replied. John

Keith Ammo
I had a 20 round box of the Elmer Keith ammunition. It was in a plain white box with lettering and a small photo of Elmer on one side. I've been looking for it to snap a photo, but so far, I haven't found it. I know I didn't shoot the ammo but it seems to be hiding somewhere in my basement.

I remember Midway selling those in the early to mid 90's. Still wish I'd picked up some Cooper .45acp brass...
