Default 65-2 year of manufacture?

I made a trade for a 65-2 today and am wondering what year it was made? Serial # has A9 above followed by 09xxx below. Firing pin is on the hammer. I figured that if anyone could solve this mystery, it would be here.

Thanks in advance for any info that might be provided...

Moonshine, your -2 was produced from 1977 to 1982. The # you list does not compute as a ser #. Take a look at the bottom of the grip frame. You may have to remove the stocks to find the #. Kyle

I have a 65-2 with the 9 on it and it was built in 79. If that will help any. Yours should be a pinned barrel.

My bad, guys. It has Hogue after-market grips, and I never even thought to look under the grip after I found that number under the cylinder crane. Here's the # from the bottom of the grip frame: 1D45xxx

Does this help?

It does indeed have a pinned barrel...
