Model 21-4 Two-Piece Barrel?
My 21-4 is my first lock/MIM/?? S&W. I have read a lot about the two piece barrels on the new models. For the life of me, I can't see how it was done. There's no sign of a "sleeve" or shrowd. So, I'm wondering if, in fact, all of them have the 2-piece barrel?

They have tricked me if my 21-4 is a two piece barrel. I can't see it.

I thought that was only for the lightweight guns that have a scandium or alloy frame/barrel sleve.

Dunno. I recall the "Model 67 Catastrophic Failure" thread where a 2-pc barrel apparently came apart.

The only way your 21-4 has a 2-piece barrel is the front sight is a separate piece instead of forged integral to the barrel.
All 2-piece barrels have a similar contour to a so-called bull barrel. The exterior is basically a straight cylinder and the barrel liner is very obvious looking at the muzzle. As far as I know there have been no N Frame 2-piece barrels in any model.

I believe the 329PD (.44 Mag) has a 2-piece barrel.
But yes - the Model 21 in the original post does *not* have a two-piece barrel.
