Default 637 air weight w/Crimson Trace grips

Has anybody had this problem? I'm about to express and what was Smith & Wesson's outcome?
I went to change the batteries in the grips and found that the titanium had deteriorated ( some what) under the actual sight side under the grip.
This is a tool that I rely on everyday as a carry weapon. Smith & Wesson's customer service was phenomenal! An American answered the phone, ( I didn't have to press 1 for English)! She had sent out a FedEx ( via email) and informed me that the revolver will be repaired or replaced.
My point is; great customer service from Smith & Wesson! Also has this issue happened to anyone else?
