Hi Bill,
Can you tell me more about this particular model? When was it produced by the PC? Model, product number. etc? Looks like a perfect carry revolver and not hard on the eyes either...

Callahan ,that 460 is great to shoot. The muzzle brake which is actually
a barrel end nut does wonders to offset the recoil.
I loaded some 250 gr. Gold dots to a relatively mild 1800f.p.s.
and my girlfriend and I shot them at the indoor range.
It is a hoot to shoot and really gets attention.
The range guy behind the counter said as he watched on the
camera it shook with every shot.
My most recent loads for the 460 are the 200gr. F.T.X. bullet over
42.5 grains of A.A. #9.
Brand new brass, bullet, primer, and powder costs a total of $1.37 a round.
Not bad considering the $47. wholesale on a 20 rd box these days.
Regards ,Allen Frame

I leave the gators alone. They help keep the pesky duck population down.
Peter ,that's the same gun. Just 2 pictures.
Merry Christmas everybody.

I enjoyed seeing your collection. It takes a long time to acquire such and then it takes time just to make the photos of it.
What I admire about your collection is each gun is well care for and in pristine shape. Many people concentrate on quanity of firearms as opposed to quality and condition.
Well done all the way around.

Something wrong with this picture. Guys that don't look for them find them while others search high and low and never find one.

Maybe you have been finding what I have been looking for...
I looked for about 10 years before I found my first 3" 657, and I looked for almost 15 years before I found another 4" 657 to replace the one that I sold in 1995....

I was surprised to see this 3" Model 66 at a pawn shop the other week. Pleasantly surprised. Not a bad gun at all.

I probably don't have 15 years so, after diligent searching, I gave up trying to find a 3 inch 686 and bought a SP101...in 3 inch.

I joined this board not long ago specifically to ask about N-frames with 3" barrels. In that time I have seen numerous threads on specific models that came with 3" barrels as well as threads on Smiths with 3" or 3-4" barrels. Since this seems to be such a desired feature (at least on this board), I wonder why S&W doesn't simply increase it's offerings with 3" barrels? If the prices I see around the web are any indication, this isn't limited to just the people on this forum.

I think these count
Ok,
These are listed in the S&W book as 4" but that is with the compensators installed (not pictured).
These measure 3" without any barrel attatchment, 3.5" with the one pictured and 4" with the compensator.

Okay Rufus....you have me puzzled....what's the one on the middle....looks like it should start with a .4x but I'm not sure given the clearance between the rear of the cylinder and the frame if it could clear a moon clip or not....what is it?
that is a nice collection that you had there....I want to shoot one of those F-Comps, they just look so tough.

I've only got one 3 incher, but I like it--the little 36-1 is a sweetheart of a shooter.
