Nice little belly busters. Hmm collect snubbies why didn't i think of that? Great idea.....
Now why snubbies do some ask?
There smaller, yet very consealable and good for upclose and personal work too. I carried a ruger 357mag w/2 3/4" barrel off and on since '76. My point is these are like our keys and wallets and become part of us too. We automatically grab all three when leaving the house. After a while of carrying it with an in the pants holster we don't even know its there. Plus its light too. Sometimes i like to put the shoulder holster away with the boat anchor(cannon) and travel light. For the CCW carry we can't beat a snubbie. I want the S&W m657 in 41mag now for sure. Bill

OK, I'm only two months late...here's my "clock" of 3" pre-MIM pre-lock N frames. Please ignore the two L ("Ladies") frames in the middle.

Them stained Herretts look much better on your 43 than before! And, since were up to 3.5" guns now, here's my model 51 3.5" nickel, along with a 650 3", both in .22 mag:

I'll play - wish I had 'em all in one photo . . .
start with a 29-4
then a 624
and a 3 1/2" 1917
and a 3 1/2" 27-2
and last but not least a 13-3

"...it has to be a Smith and Wesson between 3.0"s and 3.975"s."
Staying within the above limits I have only 3 examples.
Oldest and shortest is this cut down and chromed 1917. Its barrel is about 3-1/4":
Next in length is this cut down 624 that measures about 3-3/8":
Finally, this 3.5" M27-2 that was badly neglected buy a previous owner. I had it re-built, round-butted & re-blued into a nice carry gun/shooter.
I don't like real snubbies (under 3") but these are kind of fun and have their own Kool Factor. (smile)

S4l,
Don't know. Bought it as is from a dealer. It is nicely done which had a lot to do with my decision to buy it. Many of the cut down 1917s I've seen look like they were done in someone's garage. (LOL)

Back when this thread started I posted that I was waiting for a 3" Model 64 to show up, here's the before pic...
after polish and Ahrends boot grips...
I liked it a lot, a 3" Model 65 soon followed...
What started out as a budget 3" Model 10 is a work in progress. Plans are for a dovetailed Tritium front sight, reblue and Ahrends grips in Maple.

3 more
top one is an old pre model 44 special, next is a pre 29 cut to 3 3/4,last is a 681
I will express my thanks to rollin_hot for his expertise in getting my pictures to look bigger than a quarter. Actually it took him less than a minute to show me how to do it!! Dont you just hate those little pictures you have to scroll the mouse over
and you still cant see anything? I owe him, he even showed me
how to refinish combat grips not too long ago. Again Mike,
thank you for being such a good forum friend.

My camera doesn't work, but my 13-3 looks like the one just above, except it's wearing Magnas currently. Just got it last week, and I love it.

This Model 36 no-dash is all I could come up with. Sure hope it works, I like the way it sits in my hand. Maybe I'll get some time off before Winter.....
It's sitting there with a M36 no-dash on the left,(BK Adapter), and a Terrier with a shiny orig. mfr. adapter

Best shooter I own.
For someone with ideas about acquiring this gem by some violent means, it's guarded by a loaded .45

Those are Spegel extended boot grips. I bought them off someone on ebay a few years ago. I love how they feel.
