Default 629-5 3" info

Erroneously posted in wrong forum, lets try again
Looking at a Model 629-5, 3", fluted cylinder, factory(?) magna ported. When were these made? Were they a special run? No box ,95% condition. What are they fetching in your neck of the woods?
Thanks

The 629-2 3" classic hunter I own has a magna ported barrel, it does not bother me . . . . much. Now would I rather that the original owner did not have the barrel ported, sure, can I change that? Not without further molesting the gun and I would prefer to leave it be.

So long answer turned short I can live with porting.

P.S. - That is my camping/hiking gun in New England, and my favorite pistol I own.

Well, to actually answer your question, I unfortunately sold my un-ported 3" (629-3 Packpacker) a couple of years after I bought it for $500 or $550, I don't remember. I've kept my eye open for another one and they seem to be going for more like $650, maybe more like 700. That is THE ONE GUN I regret selling. Sold it to the father of a friend of mine, and now his son has it. I have told him if he ever wants to sell it, I'll buy. Sounds like I'd have to get in line!

I'm probably a bit low, here. I just have a hard time with some of these new prices this past year!
