Well...the book says 1000 for NIB, 750 for Excellent. With the exception that "early no - dash pinned and recessed may bring a premium in higher condition grades".
1k ain't bad if it's p&r.

Any pics Mr Bond?
A few questions, NIB, lightly used, box and Documents, original wood GA target grips?
There are not a ton of no dash P&R's around. I have a 6" no dash transitional NIB. That is to say, recessed cylinder, and non pinned bbl. i bought it last summer with box and docs, shipped under 900. I might say the price may be a tad high, but you have not described the condition. I can't offer more without more information, but if the condition is there, and you want it, I would say 900

I have been looking for a 629 no dash P&R for some time now. If its in excellent or really good condition I'd buy it. The book may state $750 for excellent, but I don't think you're going to find one for that.

I do not believe there were very many 8 3/8 629 P&R guns made. The 629 was only made for about a year or so before the P&R was eliminated. Most of the early ones were with 6 inch barrel. So the 4 inch and 8 3/8 were later production.

Nice looking stocks it has! But I just can't bring myself to buy it without having in hand to inspect first.

""Smith & Wesson 629 revolver chambered in 44 Magnum. Features an 8 3/8" pinned barrel with a very good bore and mechanical condition, recessed cylinder, red ramp front and white outline adjustable rear sights, checkered target hammer, and smooth semi-target trigger. The satin stainless finish shows a few nicks, dings, rubs, and light scratches. The smooth Goncalo Alves target grips have dents and the left grip has been trimmed for thumb clearance. This 629 no dash variation revolver has a serial number of N841XXX, a hammer nose firing pin, and no internal safety lock or MIM parts. The 8 3/8" barrel was introduced in 1981. Overall the revolver is in very good condition, used.""
I f this is the description for the gun in question, I would want to see some better pics. Trimming the grips is a 200 dollar issue right there. Nicks, dings rubs and scratches, I would want to see in personalized pics.
Just my .02
