Default Question on Classic series finish

Thinking about getting a new 586. No new revolvers to look at either , just on line videos. I see some that are mirror polished blued and some that are not quite so polished. Not looking for a high polished since it’s going to be a range gun.Is there an order preference for standard blue over the high polish.Or is it the luck of the draw when ordering one from the Classic series?

Not sure if what you are seeing in pictures is real or just lighting. Here is my Classic Model 27 I got last year. Color is more of a blue black that the old SW deeper blue. As for the shine, they both shine up well.

2nd pic is of my 1982 Model 29.

I have a 586 Classic of my own ( and have handled several 27 and 17 classics reciently.) As stated by zogger52 the color on these newer revolvers are a little diferent than the finish from years ago. (It's a completely different process.) Maybe a touch more blue than darker black. The finish on all of the guns I've handled was nice and shiny though. I put ren wax on mine to protect the finish. I think it makes the guns finish appear a little deeper too.

Probably my next gun will be that same 586.

The finish on your's looks good like the one in the video I posted. Some videos show some that appeared to be polished like they use to long before the original 586 came out.

The lense on my camera is a little dirty so the pictures are a little fuzzy. I believe thy show they proper color and shine though.
