Just got my 25-13 cylinder back from TK customs
Just got my 25-13 cylinder back from TK custom and very fast turn around sent in on a Tuesday they had it finished and back out to me today. Now the bad it will only fit TK moon clips! I have try it with speedbeez, factory smith, Wilson combat and rimz brand and the cylinder will not close put the TK ones and works fine
Spoke with TK custom they make it to there moon clips unless you tell them to cut it for factory moon clips they offered to sent it back and they would recut it free of charge being I have 30 or so TK moon clips I’m just going to leave it as is

Rocky Mountain Ram in 45 Colt
.
Nice revolver!
Yep, only made 300 of this variation. S&W didn't make all that many in 45 Colt, & less with 5" full lug barrels.
I only shoot 45 Colt in mine as I have several 45ACP revolvers so I wouldn't convert mine but hope you enjoy yours.
- see more about it here -
Another pinto, but this one's blue & silver (M25-13, 45 Colt, Rocky Mtn. Ram)

rather disappointing that only TK clips work... I have been thinking about doing this to my 625MG, but I won't be sending it to TK if it is a proprietary moonclips job... have you called to ask about this?

That’s interesting. I hadn’t heard that before. I am curious to what TK says.

Are theirs thinner or are the arms to long? I suspect their clips are thinner. Some one with a surface grinder could make other brands the same thickness pretty quickly
Of course the correct fix is to have the cylinder able to use everyone's.
Another thought. How many brands of ammo have you tried? Maybe you have a brand with slightly thicker heads and between that and the cylinder cuts makes most clips a no go.

The ears are shorter on the TK ones the other brands won’t seat in the cylinder.

Checked the ones from Moon Clip Depot against TK and they should fit, ears are shorter on Moon Clip Depot.

It would only take a few minutes on a lathe to make the m/c counterbore a larger diameter to fit all moon clips.

So, they will cut them for factory but you have to ask for that to be done.

I’ll give you one better. The down and dirty truth about it
TK intentionally makes things smaller so it forces you to buy ONLY their products.
That’s the fact. How do I know
TK j frame cylinder cut was the same forever and worked with factory moon clips that were sized for the factory cut
When I engineered my own moon clips and released the Original Precision J Frame moon clips. Well guess what happens. TK shrinks his machining so folks now cannot use my moon clip in their current TK j frame conversion.
My moon clips work fine in ALL J frame conversions done prior to releasing my moon clips to the SW revolver community.
Handy right. I create a tough and beefy j moon clip for the SW revolver community that works with every manufacturer of brass to include hornady and buffalo bore.
Then the SW revolver community gets a disservice done to them by someone changing their cut so you can’t use the best moon clip available. Out of pure malice and greed

Tom Kilhoffer uses those clips because they are the best. When he and I first started competing with moon clips we both bought clips from Ranch Products in bag of 100 for $40.00. I am still using those clips after 20 years. I won't use any other clip.

No complaints here from TK Customs. They chambered the cylinder on my Model 25 to accept .45 ACP. A fine job
