Finally, a UDR
Well after wanting one since they were reintroduced, reissued or however else you want to phrase it, I finally got my paws on a 627 UDR. I wish it was an original, but I guess I can live with the lock. It isnt going to be a carry gun, just one for fun. I need to find some other grips though. The Eagles are too small for my hands. That causes the checkering to eat up my thumb by the web of my hand. I like the boot grips length on this snubby, just need more meat side to side.

Congrats on the UDR.
I find regardless of frame size, I have to try different makes and styles of grips to find what I like for a particular gun.
Not fancy or pretty, but I put a pair of Pachmyr compact grips on my UDR.
You might have to buy and try before you find a pair that balance right for you.

I just got my 657 UDR today to go with the 627 and 629. Now I have the entire set. I like the looks of the wood grips but I changed all 3 of them to Hogue Rd butt rubber grips. They fit my hand perfect. These are some of the coolest N Frame snubbies S&W ever made in my humble opinion. I also have a question. How do you upload the pictures like you have on your 627? Do you use Photobucket?

ThE eagles are way to small for my hands. I fired 100 rounds with them and I needed more meat like you mentioned above. I replaced mine with a set of combat grips, they have always fit my hand the best.

I went with a set of Ahrends Tactical round butt finger groove and love them, same grips I use on my 625MG.

Here are the PC Shop N-frame Rd Walnut, S&W # 41417 0000, grips top and Ahrends rounded non-fg in cocobolo bottom, below, on my UDR's:
I shot 120 .38's through the PC Shop gripped version Thursday - the grips were new. They seem to have a few thousandths clearance at the top notch, as they rotate a tiny amount. Aggravating in new grips, but managed most likely with a thickness of masking tape. The Ahrends were a $10 find at a gunshow years ago - and have been worn on every N-frame I have at one time or another. Below is one of my UDR's sporting Ahrends retro targets in cocobolo. Any grip feels better than those Eagles - even when I finally got a pair that fit properly!
Also above, my 627 Pro with JM's grips - great 'grab & go' handfit.

Ultimate Defense Revolver
Sometimes also called the “Bloodwork” revolver as the main character in the movie Bloodwork played by Clint Eastwood had one.
I have the 627,629,and 657 UDR’s all pre lock. They are Uber cool.
