Default Need Info on my S&W mdl 650, 22mag/22Lr

I have a mdl 650. It has the .22mrf cylinder installed. I found a .22Lr cylinder for it. This .22Lr cylinder did not come with a ejector rod attached but it does have the shell ejector. Does anyone know if I can change out the ejector rod or did I get a bad deal on the cylinder without one?

Looks like you need more than one part.

According to the mod. 10 cutaway over my desk you need at least

1. Extractor Rod

2. Center Pin

3. Extractor Spring

4. Center Pin Spring

The parts might be available as an assembly but I'm not an armorer so I don't know.

If it were me I'd look for the parts and get The S&W Revolver: A Shop Manual by Jerry Kuhnhausenor

or better:

Find a gunsmith who would finish the cylinder for me and fit it to the revolver since it might not just drop in with the right BC gap, timing, headspace, and endshake.

And since there are 2 cylinders that both have to fit this isn't trivial.

Revolvers don't swap parts nearly as easily as Autos. While that's changing, it's certainly true of the ones made before CNC like your 650.

by the way congratulations, a 650 with 2 cylinders is a very desirable revolver. It's a great project, you'll really have something when you're done.

/c

Thanks Chuck, any idea on how, if possible, to obtain the needed parts?? I teach firearms safety to women and I'd really like to use this in .22lr. Roger.

Numrich Gun Parts Corporation. Ditto on having the cylinder fitted by a competent gunsmith.
