3" M13 Grail Gun... She's Mine!
After reading all the threads on 3" revolvers an old flame was
rekindled. Lo and behold my local Funstore had one . The
finish wasn't the best but lockup was tight. The previous owner must have fired .38spls exclusively cause it took quite
a bit of scrubbing before I could stuff a magnum in it. Mr.Taffin
had a few articles on Perfect Packin' guns and for me and where I live--this is it! well here she is .

Congratulations on your find. The M13 with a 3" barrel is my favorite handgun of all time. It fits me like a glove.
You're going to love it - enjoy!

Marvelous. Enjoy your new heater.
Now get those hogues off of it before moisture gets trapped
under there and pits the frame.
Good luck

Classic29, I too am afflicted with the dreaded Three-inch fascination, and now own a few. The first was a Model 65, used and abused, then I snagged a 686-8 in three-inch trim a year ago, and later stumbled across a minty 36-1 that hides in my safe, wearing a sweet pair of Craig Spegal Cocobolos. It's so bad I even buy other brands of guns, just because they have three-inch barrels.
I've long believed that the perfect barrel lengths are 3 and 5 inches. Now I'll get a chance to see if I'm right. My first 5-incher ( a 625-3) will be here this week!

Many years ago I had a 13 with a 3" barrel....I sold it before I realized that I have the sickness
I would like to have another 13, but for now I guess that I will have to settle for my 65's.
Congrats on the new carry piece!

A 3" 65 is also on the list but I'm partial to blued firearms (old fassioned upbringing by my grandparents I guess). I do have 3 other centerfire K-frames ( 15, 19 and 65) with 4" barrels but they have been claimed by my daughters so they are currently safe queens unless they wanna have at it. This one (so far anyway ) is MINE .

I have a 13-3, three inch with the round butt Hogues on it, exactly as you have pictured. Every other year or so, I remove the grips and coat the gun handle with a heavy lithium grease. So far I have had no problems with corosion. The rubber Hogues are not the most beautiful grips but are absolutely the most comfortable , especally with heavy loads. If the gun is comfortable and fits you, you'll have a better chance of hitting your target. David

Congrats! Truly one of the everything you need, and nothing you don't revolvers.
Sadly, one of the last too! Enjoy yours! Regards 18DAI.

Welcome to the family!!! That configuration is about the perfect balance between accuracy, power, and concealability...not to mention it's just plain fun to shoot. It'll do just about whatever you need it to, and it's size makes it easy not to leave at home.
