No Lock or Pre Lock 637?
I've never thought about it but is there such a thing as a no lock or pre lock Model 637?

I see several a year at our local gun shows. My youngest son has 2 of them (he thinks they're great.)
We've been having a discussion on the subject. It seems the folks in KY make a big deal out of the no-lock feature (I guess we can all it feature or advantage.) There is a sizable contingent in other places that don't even recognize it as an advantage (probably won't until their gun locks up on them.)
If you want one and start a search, you'll discover the price differential is significant.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll shop around for a decent Model 37. I'm not into paying "collector" prices for a tool.

Mine's a no-dash, pre-lock, pre-mim with a beautiful smooth forged trigger and a forged firing pin hammer.

Sold my 637-2 IL and replaced it with Colt Cobra and a 642-1 no lock. Also have a 649-1. Like both the steel shrouded hammer one and the 6 shot SA/DA better than the DA airweight.
