Can anybody tell me how many of the Model of 2000 Schofields were produced? The SCSW third edition does not say much. It says they were made from 2000 until 2002 and the first 125 were to be shipped in cherry presentation cases and were to be offered in an online auction. This edition was published in 2006 but does not say anything about the total number produced.

Thanks

I lettered my Schofield 2000 and Roy Jinks gave the following information in the letter:

The Performance Center Schofield 2000 was introduced at the January 2000 SHOT Show.

2600 7" blued versions were made from 2000-2002.

200 Wells Fargo Express 5" versions were made split between blue and nickel.

151 150th Anniversary gold embellished 7" Schofields were also made in 2002.

That totals at just 2951. They were hand assembled and many parts (including the barrels with their unique contours) were virtually hand finished.

I'm glad I got one for myself. I shoot it too and it shoots great!

Schofields

I have a pair of Schofields that I will use in cowboy action shooting. May I ask who did the ivory grips on your gun? Also, it looks as if they are set up with no screw in the left hand grip panel. How was this done?
I have one-piece ivories on my Colt single action army revolvers and I really like the look and feel.
Thanks,
Buckspen

I bought them from Buffalo Brothers Cowboy Store - Welcome

You drill the holes for the screw escuteons yourself (it's pretty easy to do). I just drilled one through and the other I just set the receiving end of the escuteon inside the grip instead of all the way through.

I goofed up though, because I should have done that on the other side. Then when the gun is on my right hip, there would appear to be no screw....

Thanks very much for your information. I was under the impression that some of the 7" guns were nickel plated, but rereading what is in SCSW I guess I was wrong, I guess they were blued.

You have given me exactly the information I was looking for.

Thanks to you and Mr Jinks

Glad to help Driftwood!

I bought my Schofield for $1250 with the wood presentation case and that was a great deal! They're really hard to find and much more expensive today.

My Schofield 2000 scratched my itch for a .44 caliber S&W breaktop and it saved me lots more money since I didn't have to buy an 1800's era S&W breaktop.
