Default 686 barrel weight for PPC

Me and a friend here in sweden have started small produktion of Barrel weights that fits on 686 an 629 Smith an wesson revolvers. Is just checking if there is intrested shooters and what cind of feedback we will get from the US shooters.
The revolver om the picture also have a Wichita sight!
The ideá was to help other PPC shooter to get a PPC1500 revolver and not have to pay to much for the gun!
They are easyli mounted and we use 4 small screws with brass top so the underlug do´nt take damage. And fact is that on 50 yards there is no ned of a custom barrel but we want the extra weight. Satin and polished version aviable! heavy underlug shroud someone called it on a forum?
Price is 170 Euro plus shipping

How exactly does it mount? No drilling required?

Thanks,

Welcome to the forum from another european. I am British but live in France. My wife was from Gothenburg, but I divorced her without ever visiting your country. I still miss her, but this new gun is so accurate ....

I have a 686, but I am quite happy with it as it is. But good luck with your business venture.

Pretty cool. You would have a great seller if you made a custom cylinder latch that would cover the lock hole up on the newer smith and wessons. I am really surprized no one has come up with this yet.

No drilling is needed om the SCORE barrel weight! The idea is no damage and easy to put on or take of! There is 4 small screws with brass top so it does´nt damage the underlug surface on the revolver. The poolished one take´s 40 minutes to hand polish so the quality and finish is extreme. Another thing we tested out was that it must fit in most common holsters. Most of the barrel weights people make doesn´t fit in competition holsters. With ordinary competition holsters we mean for an example Sickinger Speed machine and other.
So a barrel weight can´nt be to big if you want it to fit in the holster. We also tested a lot of different patterns with the score logo before we desided how it would be. To get the patterns we used laser and for 40 dollars extra you can have a personal design on the engravery.
I just need an ideá from the customer and i will make a sketch/proof! It´s more fun with some attitude on the revolver

Haklin, I like it. It looks to part of the pistol rather than just a hang-on accessory (except for the logo which proclaims it to be a hang-on accessory).

My take, though, is that I wouldn't be a player at $170.
I'm not trying to set your price point, only give you one comment to think about.
It's a piece of CNC'd dead weight, and if you back off on the "super" polishing and just give it a brushed finish, then perhaps you would save a lot of labor.
Also, I wouldn't like ANY design on it. Save the time and effort and leave it blank.

My price point would be probably $120. After that, I don't think so.
The world economy and all, you know...

Thanks for the feedback! The problem for us at the moment is the small volyms we produce them in! 5-10 at the time.
And we perhaps choose unecessery high quality steel to the
score barrel weight! But we decided to keep extrem quality on them instead of the blackened iron most other choose to produce them in! It´s barrel steel quality and that is´nt cheap! If we could produce larger volyms the price could go down! But thanks for the feedback! In europe everything is much more expensive than in the states.

I am very interested. I have been looking for a weight like that for a long time. However, I would like one for a 4" 686. Since you guys are producing these in small volumes, would you be willing to make a small batch for 4" barrels? If so, please let me know at [email protected].

Thanks!

Very nice. It almost looks like it could have came straight from S&W. I'm not interested, however, as I don't have a 686, nor shoot PPC. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but PPC here in the states is not nearly a common as it used to be, is it?

Understand that 4 inch barrels on 686 is very common in the states if i compare with europe! So we´ll try to make them in 4 inch also. Have to comeback about when we can have 4 inch ready!
Personal engravery is also possible to get on them! Below an example that a swedish shooter wanted.

Regards Håkan

Sold them to customers in Ireland, Sweden, US, Australia, Canada and Norway and still only satisfied shooters with the SCORE barrelweight. If someone buys one and is not satisfied we will buy it back. We still make them. Price to US is 17 Euro included shipping by post and personal design. Made of High quality stainless steel 2333.
Just mail me on [email protected] if there is any questions.
Regards Håkan
