Greetings, Friends,

I know, I know..... this topic has been beaten to death, and apologize for asking it once again!! I have three holsters for my 642, one an El Cheapo", one from Bianchi, which I like the best, and one from DeSantis, which is good, but not quite as good as the Bianchi at not printing.

However, all three of them print the 642, at least to some extent. Is there some "magic" holster out there that can be carried in the left hand front pocket, that will NOT print "pistol" in any way, when carried thus? I wear loose-fitting jeans, most of the time, and this is when it's more of a problem than when I wear Dockers, which is less of the time. New, more baggy jeans, maybe? Hummmm.... I have looked around for such, but so far, have yet to find anyone making baggy jeans, at all, these days, much less an actual selection of them!

Thoughts, comments, and suggestions will be greatly appreciated, Friends!! By the way, I'm 5.8" tall, and weigh around 170 LBS +/- a few. So, I'm fairly normal in build, and not a huge guy, and have no gut to help hide stuff. Thanks, again, as always, for any help or suggestions you can send my way! Take care, and God Bless!

Every Good Wish,
Doc

A Mika Pocket Holster feels a bit bulky at first but after a few days use it's great. They do not print the gun. If anything it looks like a wallet in your front pocket. They are cheap enough to give one a try. Just give yourself a chance to get use to it and for it to form a bit.

Also, a J-Frame disapears in an IWB holster. A Cross Breed might be a good choice. I have my first one on the way.

I agree 100%. I've tried a number of pocket holsters, but my Mika is the best. It will not allow your gun to print.

While I use and recommend the Mika pocket holster, there are some makers that sell leather pocket holsters that have a flat panel on the front side that hides the gun well (looks like a wallet). Pocket Concealment Systems is one that comes to mind. The problem I've had with most leather pocket holsters is retention. They all have too much retention and can come out with the gun if not used correctly.

Printing

I still use "el cheapo" when I pocket-carry my Model 36; and am usually wearing jeans. On the subject of printing....I think you'd be surprised that not many people (if any) would notice that you are carrying a small pocket pistol. You THINK it screams gun because you KNOW there is a gun in there. Today, everyone carries bulky items, keys, phones, etc in their pants pockets. Unless the butt of the gun is sticking out of your pocket, I suspect not many people would guess you had a pocket gun in there. Obviously, wear something comfortable that works for the gun you are carrying but I wouldn't worry too much about the print giving you away.

I have carried a J frame for 35yrs as a BU gun in my pocket both on and off duty, several models, and i have used many pocket holsters to pack these guns in, and ill say the MIKA pocket holster is the best for this aspplication, they are both fast and comfy also inexpensive, give one a try and give it a week or so to get used to it, also they do not print...MIKA is a ret Los Angeles copper, and half the LAPD uses these holsters bor BU guns..

Well, not the DeSantis Nemesis, at least for me. I'm now looking for an IWB. Every gun I carry prints on me like crazy, which is why I bought a 642 (I don't trust any of the .380s mini-autos, btw).

I TOTALLY AGREE........

Good Evening, Gentlemen,

I am going to try a Mika, after having read about it, from so many people, in this post and in others. I thank you, one and all, for your suggestions, and will let you know how it works out for me. I also like the idea of a corduroy holster, but think I sweat too much for something like that to work for me! Neat that a wife did the poster the favor of making it, though. She sounds like my own Sweet Bride! Thanks, again, everyone, and I'll let you know how a Mika works for me, when I get a chance to try it for a while. Take care, and God Bless!

Every Good Wish,
Doc
