If you're not using the gun for self-defense, the lock shouldn't matter one bit. For serious SD, I prefer to carry no-lock guns, one less thing to worry about. ALL guns, being mechanical creatures, are subject fo failure at any given time. To solve that issue, carry 2 aka a "NY reload".
