Default Model 10 NRA 50th anniversary

I won a model 10 that celebrates the 50th anniversary of it's use in law enforcement. The action has never turned and it has 24k gold embellishments. It is number 47 of 50 and comes with a matching badge. I was curious of the value of this gun. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

Value is based on several things including:

condition of the gun has it been fired?
does it come with the original box and all paperwork?
are the grips original?
what is the barrel length?

Posting pictures might help.

Info here and here.

A lot of collectors here, but I don't think they're particularly sussed about commemoratives in general. A regular Model 10 is worth, what, $600-$700 new? Maybe around that much.

Default NRA 50th. anniversary revolver

I am a retired Law Enforcement officer looking for a NRA Law Enforcement Division's 50th. anniversary service revolver. These were given away as a raffle at the 2010 Friends of NRA banquets. Anyone who knows of one for sale can contact me at [email protected].

I'm currently purchasing number 4 of 50 and wanted to find out more info about it. Contacted NRA in Fairfax VA and this is the response I received.
James, I am going from memory, so do not consider this set-in granite information. The guy who put this together is no longer with the NRA, so I can’t get any more clarification.

My memory is that there were 50 sets built for the Anniversary of the NRA law Enforcement Division and then a “proof set”, which is the first one built for our approval, I believe that was actually serial number “0”. So in total there were 51 sets built.

They were all built from working S&W pistols and were all manufactured together and they were “in the white” when made (no bluing had been applied or any other adornments. They were sent to “Barrons” (I do not know anything about Barrons, but their work is outstanding) for the bluing and custom work.

The pistol sets were only available through our Friends of the NRA events, with some being live auctioned, while others were a raffle.

After this I contacted Baron's and found out that they did a high luster bluing and the 24k gold work. All guns are not in sequential serial numbers but numbered as they made 1of 50..etc.
Hope this info helps.
