Well, that worked. Here is a lew horton 66-3 and my python snub.

Here is the last gun I bought a couple months ago. One of those ruger old style flat tops in .44 special.

A 3" model 36, a old M&P, a 24-3 and a converted HD to .44 special.

Always been a fan of the 4 inch python (not the 6 though, just too unbalanced looking) and the 19, nice to see a python rigged up with an ivory grip just to see how it looks in real life.

Here's a pair. 1957 vintage K-38 pre M14, and a 1967 Python. Big difference in price.The Python is very accurate with full magnum loads. I have yet to fire the K38.Big Larry

I got to confess both those ivory are faux ivory from boon tradeing company. Just got the python ones recently. With emblems they run around 90 bucks. Fit and look good.

Hey larry, that was just a lump of old grease, not rust in the end of the ejector houseing on my python.

I have a 6-inch Model 27-2 and a 6-inch Python. I had the Model 27 out at the range last week and the Python out a couple days ago. I just like the Model 27 the best. I like its balance because I don't care for the full lug on the Python's barrel and I like the Model 27's single action trigger best. I really don't care at all for the feel of the Python's double action trigger which just feels wrong somehow.

Part of it is the familiarity of the feel of the grip derived from shooting Smith & Wessons most. The Python's curve just feels a bit unfamiliar. If I'd been shooting the Python most over the years I'm sure the Smith & Wesson's trigger and grip style would feel unfamiliar.

...with a little age difference, but two real classics.

I do love the Smiths, but everyone should have at least one Python!



But if you compare it with this one, I'd have to say it's a toss-up!

I must agree with that statement. I have my fair share of S&W revolvers BUT, I also own a 4" blued Python and a 6" nickled Python both from the late 70s. There's really nothing like the action on a Python!

I don't know. As soon as I finally replace the factory goodyears, I think the Python will be much better looking. And Combat Magnums always have a classic S&W allure to them, but I think the O.P. has that working man's all business kind of attitude that I love in the M28's... I call for a ceasefire in this ongoing Colt vs. S&W crisis we keep opening back up. But let the pictures be free!!!

The brown two toned floral was made by "Alfonso" of hollywood in about 1971. His son is still in business. The black one is El Paso made about 25 years ago.
