S&W Model 19-5-new to me-Love it
Just traded a stainless Ruger GP100 with a 4" barrel that I've had for years for a nickel plated S&W Model 19-5 with a 4" barrel and the difference in the feel in my hands is amazing. Only had a chance to shoot about twenty 38 special rounds out of it this afternoon off the back deck, but seems to shoot really well, certainly as good or better than the Ruger GP100. Traded the Ruger even for the Smith. Gun store was asking $495 for the gun, which I thought was a little high, but was happy with the even trade. Very satisfied with the transaction and the weapon, which I plan to carry with me checking hog traps this fall and while deer hunting on our lease located on the Arkansas/Louisiana border. Any suggestions on a good carry holster ?

Welcome to the forum.
Congrats on the model 19!
I use a G&G Federal man holster for my Combat Magnums. Try Robertsons Trading Post. He had a bunch of those last year, for cheap too.
Enjoy your model 19. It doesn't get any better than that in a S&W revolver - and evidently won't! Regards 18DAI

I don't have any info on the holster, but had to say I am some what jealous. I traded my M-19 many years ago for a Browning light 12 shotgun. I was big into quail hunting back then. I have missed that M-19 ever since. I recently bought a 386Sc/s because I could not find a decent M-19. Although I like the 386, I still miss the 19. Congrats on the gun, I hope you love it as much as I did mine! Don't ever get rid of her!

I have always liked the Bianchi 5BHL style holster for belt wear. Safari land and Triple K made the same type. Many of the custom holster makers who participate on this forum offer similar models, as well as superior designs.
