Anyone use Badger grips? Opinions?
Anyone have any experience or thoughts on 'em?
Thanks,
-Rob
EDIT: We figured they're probably Badger grips. With that in mind, does anyone have have any thoughts or opinions on these style of grips? http://www.badgercustomgrips.com/smi...stol_grips.php

Thanks, guys....they do appear to be Badgers.
Now that we have who made 'em figured out; does anyone have any thoughts on the Badger grips...of any frame size/shape?

I had a set of N frame ones that came to me on a used 28-2. I put the same set on a 27-2 and a 58 that I carried for a while. Seemed well made and quite comfortable.

i typically prefer more traditional grips. that said, i have two pairs of badger grips. these fit my hands and revolvers well. they point well for instinctive shooting. mr. badger is a retired policeman and i think his experience is evident in his grips. i live in the south. sweat is just the way it is around here. sweat seems to have NO effect on these grips. just wipe them off with a wet paper towel and they look new. shallow scratches can be polished out pretty easily. they work better with speed strips than speed loaders for me. i have met mr. badger on two occasions. he is a gentleman and is really interested in providing his customers with a quality product.

I don't own any, but I've tried them on a Model 60. They felt great, and they were great looking, but they're just a *bit* too large for concealed carry for me.
On a larger gun they'd be great.

I have a pair of their Smith & Wesson J Round Walnut Boot on my 642. I love the feel, and the bottom of the grip also supports my pinky finger. I did a LOT of research and tried a few other grips before I settled on the Badger for my sometime pocket carry 642.

Thanks for all the feedback, and photos, guys...I was a little unsure about the deeper finger grooves. I like how he seems to of built in a place for your pinky on the j-frame models though.

The wider grip and "deeper finger grooves" gives you a more firm grip for better control.

My Ruger SP101 snub has Badger Boot Grips on, and they are super for concealed carry: no snag on clothing, short profile, finger grooves.
Mine did chip a tiny bit, right as I was firing some pretty stout .357 loads..Jim offered to replace them, but what the heck, they have character now.
Drawback: slick at times, and no three finger grab; the boots force ya to put pinky under grip.. not bad once you practice.

Real nice gun & grips. Not to change the subject, but how brutal is the re-coil when shooting that beauty?

Resurrecting an old thread....
I have two sets of Badger grips. The first set are two-finger-sized rosewood laminate boot grips for my square-butt j-frame. His website lists only a three-finger-sized combat grip for the SB j, but Jim Badger made these up special for me a couple months ago. He didn't charge extra for this, and I had them 5 days after placing the order. You can't ask for better customer service than that.
My other set of Badgers are rosewood boot grips for my round-butt j's, again made up special. His standard boot grip covers and extends just a bit past the butt of the gun, but he made these up with an open butt for slightly easier concealment. Again, no extra charge.
Both grips are very comfortable & handfilling, and damn good looking to boot. I suggested to Jim that he offer the sq butt boot grips as a standard item, since there is a distinct lack of grips options for the sq butt j's-- about the only maker offering them as a standard item seems to be Spegel, and his wait time is several months. I did call Mr Spegel to inquire about a set, and he didn't seem too eager to quote me a time frame or to make a set of grips for me.
I'm glad I called Badger, I'm very pleased with the results.

Great-looking grips. I have found that Badger grips are perfect for J fames. Resurrecting an old thread is forgiven in certain circumstances. The first being, that you acknowledged resurrecting an old thread.
Badger has great grips, and I applaud you for acknowledging his customer service.

I have a pair that were originally purchased for my 25-5...I swap them back and forth between that and my 29-2 depending on the whim of the day....Showing their age a little now, but after 30 years of daily carry and being knocked against consoles, doors, and exposed to the weather they have held up well....

hotrod,
I LOVE those Sq. Butt boot grips! How well would they work for someone with smallish hands and somewhat skinny fingers like myself? I'm mostly curious about the finger grooves and palmswells.
If Jim Badger can make a set of those for me in solid (not laminated) walnut with an oil finish, I may just have to give him a call.

I don't have real big hands, and they fit me great. Finger grooves & palm swells are just right. Makes it very nice to shoot. About the only other option for small grips on a SB j (besides Spegel) is magna's with a grip adapter-- that works, but I like the Badgers better.
You'd have to ask Jim Badger about whether he'd be willing to make up a set from "real wood" with an oil finish. His contact info is on his website.

I have a Smith and Wesson M&P R8 357 revolver which is an N frame round butt made at the Smith and Wesson performance center. Does anyone know if the Badger grips fit well on this model revolver and has anyone ever used their grips on an N frame revolver.

Badger grips
I've got them on most of my revolvers, "L" & "N" frames.
Good feel, fit & quality.

Love them!!! I had them on my Sp101, my 686, and I LITERALLY just ordered one for my Model 60 ha. They're great, they feel good, they look good, and Walnut is gorgeous.
