6 blue Smiths in 45 Colt ctg. The Clements gun comes home.Range photos.
Greetings fellow 45 caliber Smith fans. It has been a busy summer in the Frame household for 45 Caliber collecting.
A couple of weeks ago I bit the bullet and emptied the piggy bank and bought the Clements custom gun 45 Colt
converted Heavy Duty from fellow forum member Lentuck.
.45 Colt, S&W Conversion by David Clements SPF
The Keith Brown stocks are special but too big for me so I fitted a pair of old stag grips that have been oversize
on every post war gun I've tried them on.
They fit perfectly, and match the character of this 80 year old Heavy Duty.
So, I went to the range and shot it. And aside from a sight adjustment it
performed perfectly. A true testimonial to the man David Clements.
Here are the pictures of the H.D. and his contemporary descendants, the model 25s, all in 45 Colt ctg.
And the model 26-1 ,the other 5" tapered barrel 45 Colt Smith.
May all YOUR 45 caliber dreams come true.
Allen Frame

Love that Clements gun. I could've had it, saw it just after it was posted, just didn't have the scratch. Congratulations on your new gem.

Nice revolver! I presume Mr. Clements uses the same small body reamers that are used with the five shot cylinders? Does Clements re-bore the barrel himself or does he have somebody else do it? I understand few gunsmiths are capable of doing this kind of work. Also, how is the front sight base attached to the barrel?
I have a Redhawk that was converted by Bowen, and frankly I like yours more. If I had it to do all over again, I'd convert an N Frame Smith. Still, there's nothing quite like a .45 Colt revolver with perfect bore and cylinder throat dimensions.

Thank you all for the kind comments. I can no longer help myself.
I see a Smith in 45 and I fold like fresh laundry!?!
Dave Sinko , I'm sure a call to Mr. Clements would aanswer your questions.
The impression I get from his website is that all work is done in house.
Brad, Engine 49 guy, you have to come south to shoot.
I will bring it.
