Just bought a 625PC.
Seems the cylinders are not chamfered. What gives? Some I looked at you could see the chamfering and some seemed like the edge was square and hadn't been touched.
I've seen them from a fair chamfer to none, S&W QC is all over the place.
In the last year I have bought a 625JM, 625PC and a 686SSR, a couple things have decided is quality is potluck and PC doesn't mean anything.
For competition I use Comptac for my 625's and 686's and auto's anymore as well.
For carry I prefer leather.
I bought one a few weeks ago and haven't had time to take it to the range. My charge holes are chamfered just fine but the barrel-cylinder gap varies by about .002" from side to side. I'm not that impressed with PC quality. I'm not sure if I like those thin JM style grips but time will tell.
Spoke with SW this morning. They were surprised and offered a shipping label so they can fix. Can't ask for more than that - well except that it be done right 1st time.
Quoted 10 days round trip.
Actually, you could ask for more than that. I had a problem with a PC 1911 a couple of years back and the S&W rep at the place where I bought it said normally with a new PC gun, they just replace it with another one on the spot.
I think you might have to ask for a replacement, but it might be workable, if there is one in the place.
