Eagle Heritage Grips?

Any opinions of Eagle Heritage grips?
How do they compare to the original S&W target stocks in shape and size?

I was thinking of picking-up a pair for an N frame.

No feedback on Heritage...
but I have a pair of Eagle Secret Service boot grips on my 66, and the fit and finish are outstanding!

I have heard mixed reviews on Eagle's fit and finish, but I know of at least one pair that came out perfect!

They are really nice grips and not a bad reproduction of the cokes. If you like that shape and feel I suggest you buy a pair of kuracs {the guys name on S&W forum that makes them} for a few dollars more. They have a bit more "coke" shape and are absolutely first rate workmanship as well as wood. I have them on every N frame gun I own and without exception every person that has held one of my guns in their hand has the same reaction..."I gotta have a pair," "they are the best feeling grips I have ever tried," etc., etc. The only thing about kuracs is he dont checker them. I do all my own checkering and have not checkered any of these grips because they feel so good smooth. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. Ordered a set of Heritage to play with. I'll also check into Kurac. I think I remember his threads from a few years ago.

Just recently bought a set of ebony grips for my J-frame. Nice grips and I don't know anybody else who makes them from ebony.

Got my grips. Paid extra to have the S&W medallion installed. They look and feel awesome. Just waiting to pick-up the 22-4 I intended to put them on. Also have a model 29 classic coming they might work with. These are the grip S&W should be putting on their classic line.

any photos? I've never seen one with them on it here, with it in real light and real life which is what's kept me away from them.

hmm that's pretty close to the actual profile of a coke, I think I will buy a set for the N frame then.

I checked around a while back and had a couple people tell me to steer clear of the Eagle Grips. Funny thing was that neither person could really give me a concrete reason as to why. It just seemed liked that they had heard bad things about the grips without real first hand experience.

I called and spoke to a guy at Eagle (I wish I could remember his name). He was very helpful and even offered to help pick a pair that matched what I was looking for (dark, light etc.). I ended up buying three pairs (K & L frames) from them and have nothing bad to say about them. The finish is a little bit muted but the wood color, grain and fit is top notch, checkering is decent. I have a couple of sets and the Eagles feel very similar to real Cokes. One of these sets was for a round to square butt conversion, it looks nice and really helped achieve the more traditional look I wanted. I would purchase from them again without hesitation. I too, opted for the S&W medallion's on the grip. I thought this option was a bit over priced but the grips were still a reasonable buy.

Good choice. But they may require some fitting to your particular gun. I think they look and feel awesome. The S&W medallion addition is extra. I think total shipped I was just under $150.

They also offer a Heritage compact version.

Hmm I dont think Ill go for the compact, I've been looking to recreate the look of the 6 1/2 inch model 29 Callahan had in the first 3 movies with my 29 - 2, 6 inch gun ( a 1979 - 1980 production example, the last of the pinned barrel and recessed chamber guns) hence why I've been dithering on what wood grip to go on as with the exception of the Keith grips none of them look like this:

and I heard of those complaints too but couldnt really pin them down so I was kind of hesitant to put that money down as the gripper grips its got on it have done a fine job shooting wise, but it is the gun I've made a tradition of shooting on my birthday with remington 180's that sound like it did in the film so I think ill pay the extra and go for the medalions.
