Default Carrying Extra Moon Clips Discovery!

Today I competed USPSA Open Class with an 8 Shot PC 627 in Arab, AL. I happened to wear 5.11 Tac Lite Pro pants (same as 5.11 Tacticals, just lighter material)

With a 32 round stage I discovered in the 5.11's pant's magazine pocket I could perfectly stack 3 moon clips giving me 32 rounds total! Just reach in with a finger and drop 'em in the cylinder. Dropped an unneeded spare in my pocket giving 40 rounds total.. 5.11 makes numerous pants and shorts with mag carriers. Not a great solution for you lefties, as the mag pouch is on the left thigh, a knife pocket is on the right.

That solves a major issue for me also day to day when not competing. I have not wanted to carry the unsightly moon clip carrier aluminum contraptions that clip on the belt, or the carriers that just hold it on by two rounds. This is a great solution for me!

I don't think so. you know in your regular pants pocket, as you bend and stretch that can increase the squeeze on whatever's in there. The magazine pouch does not seem to be effected - no matter how much pressure on your pants, the pouch is just there with seemingly constant tension.

After your question, I stood up and sat down a few times with my fingers on the pouch, and everything seems to be independently suspended.

At any rate, I'll be carrying to spare moon clips all weekend, and I'll update this thread Monday.

Groo here
Just so you will know-- the 45 /10mm/38sup moon clips will fit
a speed loader pouch [ cop type] safariland duty type..
As the normal speedloader and shell is long - 2 45 moon clips [one on top of the other fit fine.
