Have not done a lot with mine, need to.
Had an action job done, replaced target trigger with a narrow service trigger & had that rounded & polished, quite nice.

The accuracy is not bad, but can't quote figures, it's been a while.

I was happy to find it in excellent used condition, the 25-9 & the 29-5 I have I consider among the best incarnations of both models.

I've got a 5" 25-7 and one of the 625 Lt Wt Hunters like Bill's bottom digital.

BOTH are very accurate with my reloads. Last week I did some 50 yd off the bench work...and had some sub 3" groups for a cylinder full.

I've load a Keith style slug, a custom mold thats very close to the RCBS .45-270SAA design. Drops a 285 gr clone to the RCBS mold. Over 16.5 grs of 2400 in a Starline case I'm averaging 990 fps out of a 6" bbl.

I can get all of those to touch at 15 yds on a good day. At 25 yds sub 2" groups...again on a good day. And have been able to hit my 10" gong at 100 yds 2-3 times in a row off the bench.

I have NEVER heard of accuracy issues with the 25-7 or 25-9 quite the contrary...generally amazement at how well they shoot.

SHOOT IT....

Here is my 25-9, 4 inch. It is very accurate with a 250 grain cast flat nose bullet and 8 grains of Unique.

In my experience, the Model 25-9 is the most underrated and the most accurate revolver S&W ever made. I have owned my 25-9 since it was first produced and have fired it hundreds of times. It still looks like new.

I have one in 4" and another in 6" and have shot both extensively.
The 25-9 model is when they finally got all of the details put together properly (cylinder throat and barrel/forcing cone dimensions, action etc.) and these are the two most accurate 45 LC's that I own. Penn Bullets offers a 225g full wadcutter that sits deeper in this oversized case and makes excess powder space a non-issue. If I would quote group sizes, you would probably call me a liar, but, suffice it to say, they will match anything I can wring out of my highly accurate 44 Specials.

I have used my S&W Model 25-9 since I purchased it new in 1989. It is without a doubt, the most underrated and most accurate revolver S&W ever.
This is the revolver Dirty Harry should have carried.
