Heritage model 25-11. Case colored beauty pictures. Thinks it's a Colt.
Fun to shoot and easy to handload for.
I've been bitten by the bug for 45 caliber Smiths and can no longer help myself.
I've even built them out of spare parts.
So,, now on a cool fall day down here in South Florida 'hell'
I've pulled them all out to photograph.
Sunday November 6th. I went to the Miami fairgrounds show.
I found this Heritage Performance Center model 25-11.
, ,The last of the no lock Smiths chambered in 45 Colt ctg.
, , made in March of 2002.
Pictures. . , , , It is my understanding that the case color hardening is done by Turnbull.
, , when I called last, they charged $250.00 just to do a bare N frame.
With the rest of the 45s all with the tall front sights.
A 25-9 8 3/8ths. Made March 1990.
25-10 Performance Center Hand ejector.
Another of the same 25-10. This one to shoot.
The 26-1 Georgia state patrol overrun.
The 1931 Heavy Duty converted by David Clements.
My 4" 25-9 shooter.
My first, a new in box 25-5 4". AZB serial. 1985
In stainless are ;
657 3" converted to 45 Colt.
625-7 3"
625-7 3"
Post war Heavy duty converted to 45 Colt
625-6 Mountain gun
625-6 Mountain
625-6 P.C. Light hunter
625-7 P.C. Light hunter
and the 625-7 power port.
Regards

A man after my own heart. That is one of my favorite cartridges.
You need a Hunter to round that out a bit. We can go shoot mine next week if you want to give it a try.

Sometimes we have to accept the locks even if we do not like them.

Wow Allen, those are all fine guns.....but that 1931 HD conversion is a real eye catcher!
You must be about out of room in your safe by now. Maybe you should send a few of those to Texas for safe keeping!

Very nice! But the question begs to be asked:"Do you have any single actions in that most venerable of calibers?"

Smith and Wesson makes single actions?
I did have a Colt New service. Traded it off for a Combat Magnum and cash.
Good luck

I think it is cool that S&W will engrave .45 Colt Ctg. on their barrels and not call the cartridge something like the .45 S&W Long Police

Not arguing with your passion Allen (more power to you) but I have a different take. When I think of 45s I think of Colt. Starting in 1873 and re-enforced for ever in 1911. When I think of 44 that says Smith & Wesson to me. Starting about 1870 and made permanent in 1907, then re-enforced again in 1956. 44 caliber is Smith & Wesson.
Just sayin',
Dave

Dave, point taken and conceded. Colts are 45s , and Smiths are 44s.
But one must admit There were so few Smiths made in 45 Colt that
the niche to collect them is there.
Also, shooting them is pretty neat too.
On my hip today at the pawn shop?

A shameless bump to the top with the addition of the 25-11 Heritage.
18 in 45 Colt.
I can't believe it myself.

The case coloring on the frame of that 25-11 is awesome! Really sets your collection off. Congrats!
