Default Tyler Gun Show Model 36-7

Hello All- Went to the gun show in Tyler today to sell some ammo I no longer need. After selling a few boxes of .410 shells to a vendor, I looked in his case and saw a S&W Model 36-7 in pristine condition. I've been looking for a small revolver for my wife and I asked how much. He said he'd had it at $400 for a very long time, so he'd take $350 for it. Since it was in like new condition, I couldn't pass it up. My wife loves it!!!!!!!

That is hot! The very first one I got was an M36 that I kept those stock Magna stocks and a Tyler-T grip. It's the best pocket pistol I've ever had in my 20+ years of carrying a firearm! Below are mine!

Thanks Tex! They are 36 No-Dash's... I was blessed enough to get the blued M36 from an Estate Sale with no turn line, totally mint condition and unfired outside the factory with a 1978' manufacture date. The nickel M36 was carried as a Gwinett County Cop's back-up gun for years and obviously shot but still in great condition with a 1977 manufacture date. I've been known to carry both of them at the same time from time to time on when concealment is paramount. Bianchi has a great OWB holster I wear @ 3:30 and a Desantis "Nemesis" pocket holster worn strong side front pocket is great for that New York Carry style.

I have big meaty hands Tex and those Magna's coupled with the Tyler-T's make for the most comfortable grip I've felt on any handgun save for maybe my 1911 Commander with the slim line "Aliens" from VZ. Try one, you'll love it as it adds grip purchase girth all the while never compromising the Magna's conceal-ability attributes. I can hold 3" groups at 12 meters with Buffalo Bore 150grain Hard Cast Full Wad Cutters (my carry load with these babies) which are known for being a pepper hot load. My 2nd favorite load are the "BB" 158 grain +P load that pushes over 900fps from both of these Revo's. I'm not very recoil sensitive but the +P's feel like I'm shooting a low powered .357 Mag load. The 150 LSWCHC I normally carry are very comfortable to shoot though!

Actually, I believe that I shoot the RB and SB equally as well; at least in the 7-10 yards range at which I tend to practice with these. I also have two 2” Model 60’s (both RB) and cannot see any difference in accuracy at these distances....but I do practice a lot as I tend to rotate through these 4 J’s as my EDC.

Congrats on a nice find. You did very well.

I like the bigger front sight on the -7. Makes it really easy to see.

Try shooting (your photo) outdoors on an overcast day or early in the morning in a shadowed area with no flash and see if that helps. Here's mine.

You had to have been around years ago (I hate the expression "back in the day") and have opened the blue Smith box, unwrapped the thick rust protective paper and seen a gun like the OP's Chief... Oops, forgot to mention that great smelling protective oil. Didn't matter that larger Smiths were packaged similarly; the snub Js of that era were (and are) little jewels! Any chance they changed me into a J-hound?
