Default Ultra Dot Match Dot

Have aging eyes and looking at (Ultra Dot Match Dot Ultra Dot Red Dot 30mm Blk/Satin MATCHDOT) here is the link (AAL UD 30Mm Tube Matchdot Blk/Satin) (1) is this a good “red dot” ? (2) Would I be better off with a scope with magnification for aging eyes?
P.S. this will go on a 71/2 inch Ruger Blackhawk. (Sorry about Ruger here. Most of my guns are S&W)
Thanks
Big Sam

I use the ultradot and for the money, its one of the best red dots out there. Ive used one for years on a 629 and never had a issue.

Own one great sight very popular among bullseye shooters. There is a new model out with bullet drop compensator adjuster.

I have the Ultra Dot Match on a Ruger .22 target pistol, and really like it. I also have 2 or 3 other Ultra Dots for some of my other Ruger .22 pistols.

Great Sites, have 5 over 10plus years with no problems at all. Two are slide mounted on 1911's and one is on a Ruger 44mag super redhawk. They handle the abuse and recoil just fine and have enough brightness to see in bright light.

Great quality, short money.

I've had several in use for as many as 10 years and they are still looking and working like new.

Default RED DOT SCOPE

I have an untra dot on my Ruger 22 target pistol. I have had it for close to 5 years and I like it very much. I also have a competors model that has both the green and red dots and its no where near as good as the untra dot!

You don't mention your intended use. Hunting? Target? What size target? What ranges? Offhand/rested? All these thing come into play when you are selectign the right optic. The ultra dots are great sights but mayby not the best for your needs.
