Maybe im just too stoopid to use it:D but i got a safariland comp II for my 686 in the mail today. It is hard to load with my .38 semi wadcutter loads. When locked in place all of the bullets point inward and dont go into the cylinders without a LOT of work. seem to hang on the ledges of the wadcutter My .357 hollow point carry loads work a little better but still arent great. Is my speedloader defective or are they all like that and have to be used with round profile bullets?

Something is not right. I use CompII and CompIII's in matches and rarely shoot anything but wadcutters. I have noticed that it is possible to lock the rounds in the speedloader but they are not fully locked in place which cants them slightly. Has only happeneed a few times. If it is not that..my quess is there is something wrong with the speedloader.

I would keep working with them. They are probably a little stiff still.
I have several Comp I, II, and III loaders. A couple have been hard to lock properly to start with. They should work better the more you work with them.

They are no doubt harder to work with wadcutter style ammo with it's square shoulders, a little wiggle helps. I find when loading the speedloader it helps to push the bullets againest a flat surface and then press in the locking button. A little chamfer on the cylinder will help also, some extractors have really sharp edges.

I have found the COMP-I model to be somewhat tough to lock with its little tab. The COMP-II is the best loader out there, in my opinion. A little stiff when new, but a dozen or so loadings and it's perfect.

Honestly i kind of wonder if a k frame loader didnt get stuck in a 686 package. It has k2 marked on the star shaped thing in the center.

That's definitely a K-frame adapter.
I have a pair of COMP-I 586/686 loaders for sale. PM if you want them.
