The Ultimate Performance Center revolver thread ?
If it has not been done yet. How about a thread dedicated to the
'Performance Center revolver'.?
Ever since I bought ( and subsequently sold) my first model 66 F-Comp
I have been enthralled with P.C. revolvers.
With limited numbers made, and them thats got em' holding on to them,
the hunt for these Special guns can be equally frustrating or rewarding.
Forged parts, teardrop hammer spurs, overtravel stops on triggers.
Features and hand fitting make these guns stand out from most all others
aside from non factory customs costing big bucks.
And,,, ports. Egads, lets not forget all those power ports and Mag-na-porting
especially on the magnum models.
So here I go. Here are my offerings in numerical order and by size,
smaller frames first.
Model 13-4 The PC-13 Double Port. 400 made in 1995.
product code 170059. 'HPC' serial prefix.
Model 19-7 . The K-Comp . Serial prefix 'SDA'
Made in a couple different runs. 1994 and 2000. product code 170025.
Model 686-3 'Mag Comp' one of the earlier P.C. guns 1992.
Made for Lew Horton PCG serial prefix . 300 made. 6 shot.
This may be the earliest power port gun. not sure. Product code 170010.
Model 686-4 Carry Comp 7 shot. Product code 170074.
Observed with fluted and unfluted cylinders.
Mine here factory laser engraved courtesy of the previous owner.
Here a comparison of the top straps of the -3 and -4 686s'
Trijicon night sights are factory on both of these.
Model 686-4 P.C. Quadraport. Product code 170077. Ser prefix SDL'.
Produced 1998, 7 shot fluted cylinder, red ramp fr. sight adjustable black
blade rear. Wood combat grips.
Front sight changed by previous owner.
$675. at the West Palm Beach gun show. I felt it was a good deal.
Bunched together. Lots of flame spitting ports there !!
Next installment will be the N frames.
Allen PC-Frame

Next up are my N frame revolvers.
First my pride and joy. A 625-6 Light hunter 45 Colt. product code 170085.
produced fall 1997. Unfluted cylinder and ported slabsided barrel. CLT serial prefix.
Then its brother the 625-7 Light hunter. Product code 170132.
Made in 1999 . LCH serial prefix short for 'Light Colt Hunter.
Produced for R.S.R. distributors.
Here are 2 model 25-10s and a model 25-11. released in 2001.
These models have features similar to those of the original
model of 1950 hand ejector chambered in 45 Colt.
A 6" tapered barrel with call gold bead on a Patridge front sight.
Shrouded ejector rod, and an additional ball detent lock on the front
of the yoke.
Sideplate is fitted with 4 screws and a traditional thumbpiece is used
for a very traditional look.
Product code 170179 on the blue model 25-10s. HEG serial prefix.
Product code 170186FC with ser prefix GBP on the model 25-11.
Maybe my absolute favorite here,,,,
Then along the way I bought a 627-5. Bloodwork gun made in 2011. Just to have one and shoot it.
M.i.m. parts on this P.C. gun. But the action is smooth and positive.
Last and hopefully not least is my monster revolver.
The P.C. 460. Product code 170268FC for Lew Horton. 2006.
Let's see pictures and descriptions of YOUR Performance Center revolvers.
What do you say??

Allen i really like the 25's. Beautiful looking weapons. Don't own any
PC guns but if i get the urge it would be to purchase one like the 25's
shown. I like the guns that lean towards the more traditional looks.
Just personal preference but i'm not much into the ported guns.
You do have some beauties though. Nice pictures BTW.

I'll play though my pics aren't always as well done!
.327 with El paso Saddlery Holster and Sile/Spegel Grips
686 Light Hunter, Hogue grips (smaller for Spouse to shoot Bianchi/Steel Challenge) and Speed Holster
640 Carry Comp, Spegel grips and Factory Bead last, matched Serial Number to 627 coming up next...both Gun show finds bought at different times from same owner!
Big Brother to 640, 627 with Bobbed hammer and all the goodies for Competition shooting...
686 Carry Comp, Alfonsos holster, color matched Spegel grips, ****** pic though...
Bloodwork with Spegel grips, dual factory fitted cylinders...I like unfluted...

Allen, you pretty much filled up this thread all by yourself! I love those guns. I'm not sure I feel a burning need for a carry comp, but I'm glad to look at them when other people have them and show obvious pride of ownership.
I have two PC guns, both 627-5s from last year -- the neo-Blood Work model, if you will. I paid my LGS to get one for me and found out they had been back ordered. After several weeks, I jumped when a consignment unit hit their used gun shelf. Used? The gun looked unfired. Who would let one of these go? Then a month or so later the one I had ordered came in, so I ended up with two. I am not about to sell or trade out of either one.
Even with its short barrel, the 627 PC is a remarkably accurate revolver.

Allen: Its always great to see your "finds". Your new additions certainly attract my attention and appreciation. Thanks for showing your 13-4.
As to the age of PC guns, I have a 640, 2 5/8 inch Comp Carry with a prefix of PCA. It looks like this was also made in 1992. I guess we should find out when the first PC guns were produced. Does anyone here know ?

Allen, First of all, your guns are magnificent. Second, I have read just about every thread on the Net about the Blood Work guns and in one of the posts from this forum, a guy said that a Performance Center rep. told him that the new 627 PC Snubnose does not have MIM parts - but it does have the IL.

This 627-5 made in 2011 DEFiniteLY has mim hammer, trigger AND internals.
See the casting 'dot' on the side of the hammer.
And the hollow back of the trigger is a dead give away.

why
Seriously, why are you posting this picture? DO you realize that people on a fixed income might see it and do something rash? And, you put pretty white grips on it to make matters even worse. This is one of the only guns left that i lust over, if you ever want to sell it my credit cards will just have to suffer the blow.

Hey Allen, thank you so much for the correction - and especially for taking the time to post and re-post photos pointing out the telltale signs of MIM parts. Sometimes well meaning folks give out incorrect information in forums and then others, like me, pass it along assuming it was credible. I always appreciate when someone makes the effort to set the record straight.

Allen,
Apparently, this was a change implemented by Smith in 2011 because the 627-5 UDR I purchased in January 2011 (manufactured November 2010) has no MIM parts. The hammer has no casting dot nor is the trigger hollow-backed.

Here is my snubby N-frame PC Shop collection:
Hmmm, a pair of current reissued (... and regripped!) 2 5/8" PC627 UDRs, a Lobo Leather holster, and a cheesy $10 belt. Well, the grips are from the PC Shop!
The rest of my PC Shop production:
Oops. The two UDRs were it... sorry!

This is one of 80 PC 586 revolvers configured like the ones made for the French GIGN. This one came from RSR Group Florida according to the letter that I received from S&W. It is a six shot with a four inch power port barrel and it has a front night sight.

Here is an easy way to post your pictures:
1. Open an account at Photobucket (it's Free). Go to this link and follow online instructions: Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket
2. Upload your photos from your computer to your album that you set up in Photobucket
3. Write your post in this (or any other forum) and when you want to insert a picture into your post, first copy the link to your photo that is in your Photobucket album, and then, click on the link button at the top of the box in which you are writing your post. (The link button looks like a blue globe with a paper clip at the bottom.) Then copy the link to your photograph in the pop-up box.
I hope that helps, but if you run into trouble, PM me.

I enjoyed the rogues gallery of beautiful performance center firearm. People on this forum have excellent taste in firearms.
BUT, the problem I have is that no one posted any .41 Mag performance center firearms. I guess the .41 mag is just the red headed step child, I post a pix of one my .41 Mags.

seriously though are those front sights avalaible through smith and wesson or someone else?
as I looked at the trijicon website and theres no mention of front sights like those being avalabile and I'm just wondering how they would look on one of the third gen smith semi autos with those kind of front sight cuts in them.

What a awsome collection, I'm in the hunt for a 686-4 PC. It is nice to see a pic of one to let me know that they exsist.

I missed out on the 4" M27-7, but have a blued 3 1/2" M27-8 next to me. Great handling and accurate. A definite favorite 357Magnum. Looks great too.
With its' sidekick:
