guys,i looked through all 10 pages on the search part of forum before coming here..does anyone know how many 696 3 inch ported guns were ordered by lew horton from smith wesson back in the mid 90"s.thanks for advice friends

Not sure how many were made. I have one I bought new when they first came out and certainly I like it.

Same Question. I just bought a nice one, which is a 696 no dash, SN# CBTxxxx. It is ported, and looks like a Lew Horton, but how do I know for sure? Also, did it go through the PC? How would I know that?

You can call Lew Horton with the serial number and they can tell you if it's one of theirs'. You can also call S&W customer service and see if it was ever sent in for service.
