Just call S&W about my new 686 with uncentered barrel. Guy asks, " want to send it back, let us fix it?" totally positive experience. Turn around time, 2 weeks, he says. This is a very smart business policy, hope they keep it. He,s sending me a prepaid label to cover shipping costs. Update to follow on quality of work. I would think it would be more cost effective to crank up quality control rather than pay for repair work and shipping costs.
I just got a shipping label for my BG38 "Bodyguard" 38 snubbie. Second time to send this revolver back and it turned two months old today!
I own three other S&W revolvers which were manufactured in 1980, 1989, and 1999. No problems with them at all, but this new one... Sheesh.
When it comes back from "repair" it will go on the sales block and I'm done with any new S&W firearms. I'll stick with the tried and true Tupperware guns for my self-defense.
