Default S&W 66-2 2.5 inch ported value?

I tried looking on Gunbroker for prices and a search on here didn't come up with anything (that I saw), I am looking at a 66-2 with 2.5 inch ported barrel. The store is asking $575 but said they could do $549. Comes with leather holster of some sort, no factory box. This is California, so the price seems pretty decent for this place (unfortunately). How common or rare are these ported 66s though? I have the same model with a non-ported barrel that I spent $600 on a few months back, but how do you like the ported barrels? I have never shot one that is ported, so any experience or opinions would be welcomed. Thank you!

They were never ported by the factory so that would hurt resale value. The porting doesn't do all that much with a shorter barrel with anything less then the hotest loads.

In my opinion, porting devalues the gun, no matter what the model or caliber. Again, this is just my opinion.

Great, thanks for the responses. I thought something may have been off with it. It has the more modern oval shaped cylinder release that the post-lock guns have and I have never seen one on a prelock before and asked him if it was added. I will pass on it I think.
