Default Model 14-8 / Corian Grips

I've had my Model 14-8 for a while now. Shortly after I had received it I installed a Wolff Type 2 Shooters Pack into it using the 13 pound rebound spring with very good results. A little later on I ordered a SDM relacement front sight blade with a 14kt gold bead in it. I had not installed it right away. I was not happy with the OEM wood grips that came with it and replaced them with a set of Pachmyr Presentation grips and while they worked rather well I just couldn't warm up to them. Next I purchased a set of elk grips that in time proved to be a little small for me without using a grip adapter. Finally after seeing this pair on his website I contacted Don Collins who has made me several pair of DuPont Corian grips. He had them in stock and with minor fitting for a final match they have proved to be the fit that I was looking for. At this point I had a local smith install the SDM front sight blade. This gun has since proved to be my most accurate free handed shooting gun I own. It has about 2500 rounds through it and the IL or MIM have never presented a problem. The trigger is as crisp as it was new. This is one gun you wont ever find in the classifieds for sell.

Very nice! Love the grips and the gold bead front sight is good to go.

How do you like the SDM sight? Any problems with installation?

The pin holding the blade in was smaller than any of my punches and being such a visual area I didnt want to bugger anything up using improper tools so I had the gunsmith at the local range install it. I like the gold bead alot it sure makes shooting into a dark area alot easier. I almost went to a white outline rear blade at the same time but decided to hold off and see how the bead worked on it's own first. I'll shoot it this way a while before a final decision on the rear blade.
