45 snubs
Spent the afternoon yesterday at Target World exercising my M25 2 3/4" Jovino and M625 3". They buck pretty good with wood grips but are very cool if I must say so. Both liked my reversed 160FN WC loads up close.

Couple of nice 45 wheelies u got there! I just picked up a custom 625 in 45 Long Colt with a 3 3/4" barrel. I do not reload, but have been able to find a few decent factory loadings here and there. Have only shot mine once thus far, but I am hooked already!

I have a 325 2.75" NightGuard .45 ACP. Shot it this week with Buffalo Bore .45 Auto Rim 200 gr. Speer Gold Dot and 255 gr. Hard Cast Flat Nose Lead, both at 1000 fps. Let's just say, these loads in a lightweight snub are not for sissies.

I have a 3" Model 625-3 Power Custom Combat. The 3" 625 has a short Ejector Rod for some unknown reason. We have converted mine to a Full Length Ejector Rod as well.
I will probably change the front sight to a Red Ramp sooner or later. Mine is the solid Black ramp version. You would have thought it would have came with a Red Ramp from the factory.
My carry holster is a Lobo Model 1 Pancake with Inner Hammer Shield, and Detail Boned.
I do not carry and shoot the 625 as much as I should. Common problem with many folks on this site. So many revolvers, so little time to shoot them.
Bob

BobR1-
How's your Lobo Pancake? I have a Desantis for my 3" 29 and it carries and draws nice but it's almost impossible to holster the gun when you're wearing the holster. Some issue with the way the belt tightens the holster. I need to find something else.

I'm with bamabiker, we need pics ! Especially of the Jovino!

Here's mine
Here is my 25-5 Custom .45CLT I picked up a few months ago. Only shot it once so far, and I sold the 625-7 that I got with it, which the profits nearly paid for the 25-5

A smith in Indiana named Richard Marks. It has elements of both Jovino and Behlert, and when I found it, I hoped it was one of theirs. I saw it and had to have it, and I think I got a great deal on it. At the same auction and probably done by the same smith was a 27-2 snub converted to 45 Colt with a 45 acp cylinder, but for some reason I didn't go after that one. The gun has the smoothest action I've ever felt and shoots pretty well for a snub. It is nickel.

Which Target World? The one in Chalfont? If so, we will have to go bust some caps together.

That is nice. I'd have to get some nice wood to go on it but that's just me. Thanks for the pics.

Lobo Holster
WC145
The Lobo Pancake is a very good holster. It does stay open also.
I have the Model 1 holsters with Inner Hammer Shield, and Detail Boned for my 3" 625-3, as well as my old 638 that I sold a while back. It will be the holster for my 442 Pro "Moon Clip" S&W # 178041 later this week when my dealer gets it.
I have the Lobo Enhanced Pancake again with Iner Hammer Shield and Detail Boned for my:
LCR 22 & LCR 357
4" 610
4" 64
4" 617
2-1/2" 310 Night Guard
2-1/2" 66 No Dash
I believe that is 8 Lobo Pancakes total I have so far.
I also have a Lobo Flap with No Cant to fit the LCR 357 & LCR 22 for the wife to carry when horse back riding. Ray does very good work, and his prices are reasonable for a custom holster.

BTW, .45 supers work great out of these guns. I chroned mine with 230gr Triton supers and it got 1000 fps.

I love to handload for it and have done loads like that, Deaf - thought I might have been getting a bit up there when I was throwing 255-grainers out of the three-inch barrel at 950 fps.

I'd also like to see pics of the Jovino custom. That nickle 25-5 is a really nice looking 45. Here's my 45 snub. One of the 103 625-11s made a few years ago.

When it come to N Frame Snubs I think the 45 ACP is the best choice.
Unless you already have a Fleet of 357's, 41 Mags, 44 Mags, or 45 Colts.
If so, you can taylor your chosen calibre loads for your favorite caliber to your N frame Snubby...
However, the 45 ACP S&W Snubby, with its full moon clips, is the fastest to reload, and easially controlable with any factory ammo.
I really like my 325 Night Guard...

Here's my contribution. As much as I like these 45acp snubbies, I sure wish I could run across one in 45 Colt.

Okay, here is my .45 Colt (and .45 Schofield, .45 ACP, etc) 'snub nose' - a 2.75" barrel. It weighs <30 oz - and recoil with .45 ACP/Colt is fine with the OEM boots shown alongside my Governor below - which sports Hogue/S&W .500 Magnum X-frame monogrips:
Whatever size savings the 2.75" barrel provides is quickly lost with that long cylinder. S&W has a Galco holster made for it:
And, here it is with my 24/7 EDC - a 642:
Okay, that isn't fair - the 642 weighs a hair over half what the Governor weighs - and can easily be pocket carried. Not so much the Governor! Still, it hits coincident POI/POA from 7-12 yd with it's fixed tritium Night Sight and either my 250gr Speer GDJHP .45 Colt, 240gr LRNFP .45 Schofield, or 230gr FMJ ball ammo in .45 ACP. And - if needed - it'll handle 2.5" .410 shot shells. My only 'snub nosed' .45!

My in the woods carry
Here is my 325NG with it's Lobo 1-SL pancake holster and the Federal 230 grain Hydra-Shok's I carry in it pretty much every time I am in the woods.
It is light to carry and the holster fits very well.
Cheers,
Rick

It's a Bowen Rough County rear sight with V-notch. It is my night guard. I switched the sights out because it hit about seven inches low at seven yards with 230 grain loads when I bought it with the original sight.
I took this picture after I installed the sight last year.

Rick

I like that sight a lot, I have a 327NG that shoots low, that might e my solution. How does it match up to the big dot front sight?

It works out well for me. It's like dotting an "i" with a big dot. I rest the front sight in the V.
I like it. All of the loads I shoot out of my 325NG use 225-230 grain bullets, so this has made my POI match my POA. Of course, YMMV.
Cheers,
Rick

A bit of off topic, but thanks for helping me find some space to store ammo ghitch75!!! when mommas closet gets cleaned out, she will probably want to send some cookies your way LOL!
Ok, sorry for the drift.... how common are cut down 1917's now a days? I remember seeing them in the past, and I had no interest, but a period 45 ACP cut down kind of calls to me now....

I enjoy this thread w/ pics as I really like big-bore snubbies of any caliber.
The .45 though just seems like a logical choice for a hard-hitting, low pressure round, suitable for short barrels.

This thread is evil... really want a 45 snub. Maybe I'll have some luck finding one at the show this weekend. Not going to hold my breath.
Y'all got some real nice ones on here!
