I get leading on my 617 in a few different places:
*Top strap of frame
*just outside the barrel(5 oclock) on the frame
*and on the yoke assembly.
Is this common, or is it a timing issue. It's not a great deal of it, but enough to make me scrape it off. I have been using various ammos, Rem Goldens, Blazer bulk.
thanks,
wth

I found just to opposite. The Federal Bulk fills my 617's top strap all the way to the cylinder after 350 rounds. The CCI Blazer don't seem to do it near as much.
always shot plated rem golden or federal bulk pack no leading , last week shot some rem thunder bolt solid lead , boy it had LARGE CHUNKS of lead in it .never had thatproblem with the plated , just brush out the carbon and it was clean , i wont use unplated in my mod 617 again ,will save it for my 30 year old rossi 62 pump it doest do it in it
