Price check: Model 940-1? *I picked it up*
Seeing if any of you guys had any input on what the going price should be for a clean 9mm Model 940-1 without box/papers? Supposed to be in 100% mechanical condition, including bore & chambers, and very little wear to the finish. Any opinions on the model? Make a good CC piece? I know they require the use of moonclips and weren't terribly popular in their day. Just trying to get an idea of what a fair price may be and if it'd be worth picking up.
Only photos I can get for now:
Thanks,
-Rob

I belive...
A 940 sold last week in the Atlanta area for $650.00. Another member was going after it and back out. When I contacted the owner he had sold it. Which is ok, because I found a 696 and bought it! That 44 spl is a nice revolver!

I have a really nice one with Spegel grips I wouldn't take less than $750 for as well. Not many out there and they are hard to come by.

I saw that one in Dallas also. I later talked to someone who had purchased one for $600 and I assume it was the same one. There was also another one that a lady back in the jerky and beads section was selling for a LEO widow friend for under $500 w/ holster.

Thanks guys. I went ahead and picked it up. Not too sure that I'm 100% in love with the idea of a 9mm Centennial, but it's as nice as was described (if not better) so that was good. I do like the barrel profile on it, kinda reminds me of a M65/M13...but in 2" snub format. Looks like there's still a market for these little guys, so I wouldn't think I'd have too hard a time trading it if I wanted.
Appreciate the input.
