Default Did S&W ever make a model 27-2 with 2.5" bbl.?

I've been looking around to try to find if this model was ever produced. I've know the 3.5" bbl. is very popular.
I am asking because the lgs owner offered to sell me his the other day.

I don't think so, but conversions were done (think Jovino). Is he measuring from the right place?

I am not aware of a 2.5.Either someone is measuring from the front of the frame,or the barrel has been cut,in my non-expert opinion.

S&W never made one. S&W 2.5 and 3" N frames all used a shorter extractor rod and came along after the -2. I have seen barrels shortened to 3" using the regular length rod but the only way you could shorten a barrel to 2 1/2" would be to shorten from both ends and install a shorter rod which would be labor intensive.

Are you sure it's not an M-19? As others have suggested it sounds as if the seller had miss measured the barrel length. What is the asking price, please?

I may take a trip to the shop tomorrow with my camera and tape measure and see if he will let me snap some shots and I will post the results here.
I'm certain he said it was a 27-2.

The Jovino, Behlert and other conversions were as short as 2 3/8"

Default False alarm

I went to the shop to view the gun again today.
I told the owner I didn't think it was a 2.5", so he measured it, and of course, it's a 3.5" model.
I snapped a few pics if anyone has an interest.
He wants $950.
