Default "Matte Black" finish on Trr8/ M&P/ Night Guard series

Can anyone tell me what exactly this finish is? It doesn't look to be melonite, but more of a black powder coat... I can't seem to find much info on this finish. The scandium frame and the steel barrel/ cylinder also seem to be a different shade of black..

If anyone knows if it is ok to use brake fluid cleaner on these guns to get the carbon fouling off? Will it damage the black finish? Thanks Mac

When I doubt, I use Birchwood Casey "Synthetic Safe" Gun Srubber. Didn't even harm the clearcoat on my Ruger 10-22 stainless receiver.

For real steel with no possibly delicate finish, I use non-chlorinated brake cleaner, which will ruin some finishes. Use outdoors, with gloves, for both types of cleaner.
